2018 Summer Student Intern Position – Social Media and Events Coordinator

  • Job Dates: May 28, 2018 to July 20, 2018; 30 hours per week for 8 weeks; $14/hour
  • Job Location: 7481 Woodbine Ave., Markham ON L3R 2W1 as well as occasional travel to another location in Markham.
  • Application Deadline: May 22, 2018 5PM EST
  • Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate various team members commitments to submit content for Mercy Mission and FosterLink communications
    • Create and disseminate email newsletters for Mercy Mission and FosterLink news and events
    • Create and promote content on social media such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
    • Write creative¬†website content
    • Reach out to mosques to organize foster care outreach events
  • Qualifications:
    • Passionate and enthusiastic about communication and community engagement
    • Have excellent written communication skills
    • Excellent understanding of social media engagement
    • Good understanding of web-based newsletter tools (ex: MailChimp)
    • Good relationship-building skills
    • Good understanding of the Greater Toronto Muslim community and organizations
  • Education:
    • Must be a college or university student 30 years of age or under, and be returning to school in September, 2018
    • Current diploma or degree in communication or marketing-related field preferable

  • Job Location: 7481 Woodbine Ave., Markham ON L3R 2W1 as well as occasional travel to another location in Markham.
  • Application Deadline: June 15, 2018 5PM EST
  • Responsibilities:
    • Reach out to mosques to organize foster care outreach events
    • Coordinate resources to organize foster care outreach events
    • Conduct intake interview with interested foster caregivers and report results to intake manager
    • Research and write content for website and newsletter on foster caregiving issues
    • Create and disseminate email newsletters for Mercy Mission and FosterLink news and events
    • Create and promote content on social media such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
  • Qualifications:
    • Passionate and enthusiastic about communication and social services delivery
    • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Good understanding of web-based newsletter tools (ex: MailChimp)
    • Good relationship-building skills
    • Good understanding of the Greater Toronto Muslim community and organizations
  • Education:
